5 Matters arising from previous meeting
Suggestion by Kim McCosker at AGM to obtain raffle prize ? from real estates
Action: Eve will discuss options with Bre re contacting local businesses.
Suggestion by Kim McCosker at AGM to write to Cr Terry Landsberg requesting grant of $450 to cover insurance costs as these are a large
part of membership costs.
Action: Eve/Bre will contact Cr Terry with request

6 Presidents Report: Evelyn McCorkell * Update on CWS premises: no progress unfortunately. Sunshine Coast (SC) CEO John Baker is on leave in the UK. Discussion if the new Caloundra Library is an option > no as there is no storage available and access is limited to set days/times.
Eve has previously contacted Coolum Womens Shed for information on how they obtained their shed, but there has been no follow-up from
Coolum with info.
Caloundra Men’s Shed: no space for CWS shed and their site is isolated. Men’s Shed is funded by the Federal Government with a mental health focus, similar to the ethos of CSW.
Caloundra Cricket Club & Guide/Scout Hall: is it possible to share premises with these organisations
Previous Council discussions had highlighted their need for parking.

Preferred options include council to gift land to CWS and then grant will be applied for OR premises required to rent with grant for same.
Acknowledgement that shed will not be free. 
Agreement that CWS will continue to advocate for their own site Action: Eve > will follow-up with State MP Kendall Morton & Send email to all membership to ascertain if anyone has a further suggestions/community contacts.
& post on FB tagging MP Kendall Morton & Cr Terry Landsberg.
& investigate contact points at Caloundra Cricket Club and Guide/Scout Hall
& Letter to be composed/forwarded to council contacts, local businesses including real estates, Kim McCosker + others seeking support and suggestions for CWS site options.
* Chit Chat Tuesday is popular and attracting new interest. Agreement that event is popular due to location, fresh air, coffee van etc.
Previous suggestions for rain location in hotel or coffee shop: no change at this time and event is cancelled if it is raining.

7 Treasurers Report: Tracey Varcoe
*Good few months recently. Membership Coordinator, Robyn Brydon, continues to forward member names to treasurer each month to allow
for correlation between membership and income. 44 members at present.

9 Welfare Report: CWS does not currently have a formal Welfare Officer with Eve currently filling this role, as required. Welfare Officer

Events and Activities Update: Sheena McDonald (via email)
* Barefoot Bowls +/- dinner: tentative date on 10/10/25 at Waves Bowling Club. $10 pp for bowls. Partners welcome. 
Action: Sheena will confirm date prior to CWS advertising due to construction work at Waves. Eve will then advertise/add to CWS
calendar

Other Business:
* Proposed Christmas Craft Stall: Eve bought along 2 knitted Christmas trees. Discussed alternative options for those who do not
knit e.g. rik rak. Maryanne is holding 2 Christmas Craft stalls at Over 55s venues (22/11: Kawana Forest 8/11: Buderim) and is happy to
share her space with CWS: offer accepted with thanks. Item donation required for venues to raffle, otherwise no payment for attendance.
Small items have proved to sell well. Options for craft items discussed:
craft, food, sweet items will be accepted with thanks (all ingredients to be identified).
Action: Eve will contact Woolworths, Gateway + ? other options for donations of ingredients.
* Christmas Tree Laneway: Organised by Uncover Caloundra, decorated Christmas trees in the Caloundra cinema arcade.
Advertising for companies that decorate their Christmas tree.
Discussion re benefit for CWS and if there is a participation cost.
Action: Tracey to contact Uncover Caloundra for further information.
*Suggestion to use CWS supplies and hold craft afternoon with items made to be donated to sell on the stalls.
* Classes: work involved in preparing for craft activities discussed as this can be very time consuming. No work space in storage shed so
preparation occurs at Maryanne’s residence. Further work on sorting craft supplies is required > suggestion to have a Working Bee at Bells
on Main on a Monday afternoon to assist with sorting organisation/sorting of supplies.
Action: Eve will put on calendar to advise of Working Bee and request support. 

Date: 1 Sep 2.30-4.30pm.
Committee members to directly contact relevant CWS members for support.
* Need for Activities Committee Meeting to discuss/coordinate above activities
Action: Activities Committee will meet on 1 Sep 1.30-2.30 pm (prior to Working Bee). Secretary Bronnie will attend by phone to write
minutes.
